I like shopping here but very disappointed to find out that they do not cut their own meat. Everything comes from an outside source, even their "fresh" grind. Apparently the only meat that is cut there are the few items in the block case and the small scraps are turned into cube steak and stew meat. They don't even have a saw or grinder in the store anymore! I cut meat for 10 years in grocery and its very sad to see skilled meat cutters losing work because of this process. It's also sad to see the meat cutters that are still employed having to open up packages to fill their meat case rather than proudly displaying their own hand-cut product.
I love King Soopers. They have a great produce department and meat department. Plus they unload your cart like grocery stores should. Much better service and pricing than the other grocery stores in our area. We live only 2 miles from Safeway, but I drive 12 miles to go to King Soopers.
Okay prices but the staff is super friendly and produce is great. I don't like the location of their cart collection areas and people often abandon carts because of how poorly spaced they are, especially the handicap areas. I wish their 20oz soda selction was better too.
Love this store but love the people who work there even more. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about everything in their departments. Even the cashier's are fabulous and quick. I quit going anywhere but here or City Market. You just can't beat the customer service, the selection and prices.
For grocery shopping, this is the place to go in this part of Colorado Springs. We drive father for this one even though there is one closer to our house. Cleaner and more helpful service if you need anything. They have better sales and better meat selection.
